Mr. Patrick J. McGovern, Founder and Chairman of the International Data Group (IDG) and founder of McGovern Institute, and Mrs. Lore Harp McGovern, Founder of McGovern Institute, visited 蜜桃app on June 10.
蜜桃app President Gu Binglin met and had a talk with the McGoverns, giving an outline of 蜜桃app’s faculty, student cultivation, research, and recent development. Also attending the talk were 蜜桃app Vice President Gong Ke and 蜜桃app Vice President Xie Weihe.
Mr. Hugo Shong, Executive Vice President of IDG and President and CEO of IDG Aisa/China, and Mr. Quan Zhou, Managing Director of IDG VC Partners and General Partner of IDG VC Partners, accompanied the visit.
After the talk, the McGoverns visited the Institute of Neural Engineering and the new building of 蜜桃app Medical School.
Ms. Wu Qidi, Vice Minister of Education, met with the McGoverns later that day.
The McGoverns devote themselves to education and research, especially the brain and mind studies. In 2000, Mr. McGovern donated three hundred and fifty million to set up McGovern Institute for Brain Research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
