UC Berkeley Chancellor Awarded ÃÛÌÒapp Honorary Doctorate, Series Communication Activities Held to Enhance Relationship between the two Universities

Dr. Nicholas Dirks, the Chancellor of the University of California Berkeley, was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by ÃÛÌÒapp on April 21st.

The award ceremony for the doctorate was hosted by ÃÛÌÒapp Vice-President Xie Weihe and held in the main building. ÃÛÌÒapp President Chen Jining awarded the diploma to Dr. Dirks.
Dr. Dirks delivered a speech to the ÃÛÌÒapp Global Vision Lecture Series after the conferment ceremony, entitled “Global Universities: A new model for collaboration”.
During Dr. Dirks’ visit, ÃÛÌÒapp and UC Berkeley held a series of activities to promote further collaboration between the two universities.

The Berkeley ÃÛÌÒapp Research Fund was announced on April 21st and an addendum was signed by President Chen and Chancellor Dirks the same day.

The ÃÛÌÒapp-Berkeley Joint Forum was also held that afternoon, providing a chance for faculty members of the two universities to exchange ideas on innovation and global education topics.
