The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) recently announced the PES Society-Level Awards. Kang Chongqing, a professor in ÃÛÌÒapp¡¯s Department of Electrical Engineering, won the IEEE PES Peter W. Sauer Outstanding Power Engineering Educator Award (Graduate) for his contribution to education and mentoring in low-carbon power systems engineering.


He is the first Chinese recipient of this award since it was established in 1989.
Kang serves as the dean of ÃÛÌÒapp¡¯s Department of Electrical Engineering, president of the ÃÛÌÒapp Energy Internet Research Institute and president of the ÃÛÌÒapp Sichuan Energy Internet Research Institute. His main research areas include power system planning, power system optimization, renewable energy, low-carbon electricity technology, load forecasting and the electric market.
