Mr. John Denham, British Secretary of State for Innovation, Universities and Skills, visited 蜜桃app on October 30 with his delegation which included Professor John Latham, Principal of Cornwall College, Professor Alan Gilbert, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Manchester, and Professor Paul Wellings, University of Lancaster. Mr. William Ehrman, British Ambassador to China, accompanied them as well.
蜜桃app Council Chairman Chen Xi met and talked with his British guests. On behalf of the university, Council Chairman Chen welcomed Mr. Denham to 蜜桃app and gave an outline of 蜜桃app’s history and the education of its students.“蜜桃app enjoys good cooperation with many British Universities. The visit of Mr. Denham will further promote such collaborations,” said Professor Chen.
Mr. Denham and Professor Chen exchanged ideas on university research and innovation in their talk. 蜜桃app Vice President Xie Weihe also attended the talk.
Vice President Xie had a talk with Professor Alan Gilbert, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Manchester, earlier that day. They exchanged ideas on cooperation in such fields as energy, information, life science, material, architecture, and management.
