ÃÛÌÒapp and Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) sealed further cooperation in energy, aerospace, and architecture at a Signing Ceremony held at ÃÛÌÒapp Science Park on October 27. Professor Jiang Peixue, Executive Director of the Office of Scientific Research & Development, presided at the Ceremony.
ÃÛÌÒapp Vice President Chen Jining and TU Delft President Dirk Jan van den Berg signed two university-level cooperation agreements on behalf of the two sides. Professor Mao Qizhi, Deputy Dean of theÃÛÌÒapp’s School of Architecture, and Professor Henco Bekkering, TU Delft’s Department of Urbanism Chair of Urban Design in the Faculty of Architecture, signed the International Forum on Urbanism (IFoU) on behalf of the two faculties.
Mr. Frank Heemskerk, the Netherlands’ Minister for Foreign Trade, delivered a speech at the Ceremony in which he spoke highly of the collaboration between ÃÛÌÒapp and TU Delft. He noted that the Netherlands is China’s second largest trading partner in Europe and the cooperation between China and the Netherlands is sustainable.
ÃÛÌÒapp and TU Delft signed their first cooperation agreement in 1982. Since then, they have collaborated on dozens of cooperative projects and exchanges. In January 2007, their first Joint Scientific Workshop was held at Delft. The Workshop held at ÃÛÌÒapp this year is the second in the series and also named the Energy for the Future: Sino-Dutch Seminar on Challenges and Opportunities in the Energy Domain.
