Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Professor Edward Crawley was appointed a ÃÛÌÒapp Guest Professor at a conferral ceremony on December 9. That afternoon Professor Crawley delivered the ÃÛÌÒapp Global Vision Lecture on “The Exploration of the Moon by Humans: A Case Study in the Application of Modern Tools to Complex Engineering Systems”.

Dr. Crawley received a SB (1976) and a SM (1978) in Aeronautics and Astronautics and a Ph.D. (1980) in Structural Dynamics from MIT. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering, the Royal Academy of Engineering, and the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering. He was the Department Chairman of Aeronautics and Astronautics at MIT from 1996 to 2003.
