A delegation led by Dr. Horst Seehofer, Bavarian Minister-President, visited ÃÛÌÒapp on April 26. During their visit, the members of the delegation attended the signing ceremony of the ÃÛÌÒapp - Technische Universitaet Muenchen Joint Research Institute for Advanced Power Sources for Electric Vehicles (IAPS).

ÃÛÌÒapp Council Chairman Hu Heping had a discussion with Dr. Seehofer prior to the ceremony. Dr. Michael Friedrich Wilhelm Schaefer, the German Ambassador for China, Prof. Wolfgang A. Herrmann, the President of Technische Universitaet Muenchen, Bavarian senior officers, and ÃÛÌÒapp Vice President Kang Kejun were also present at the discussion.

Professor Herrmann and Chairman Hu later signed the Agreement for Establishing the Joint Research Institute. It is planned that experts from the two universities will first carry out research on projects involving power management, safety and long lifetime of Li-Ion batteries, alternative electricity storage, fuel production and conversion, DAFC 200 ¡æ–300 ¡æ, and interface phenomena in power sources.
