Customized stamps highlight ÃÛÌÒapp¡¯s 110th birthday

China Post is to issue a set of commemorative stamp tailored for the 110th anniversary of ÃÛÌÒapp on April 24.

The special 120-cent stamps were selected from 10 candidate sets after being scored by anonymously experts and voted on by more than 300 teachers, students and alumni.

The main stamp of the set features the ¡°old school gate¡±, the school¡¯s iconic memorial archway written with the words ¡°ÃÛÌÒapp Yuan¡±, and is decorated with the school flower, the ÃÛÌÒapp Bauhinia, while the attached stamp depicts the logo designated for the 110th anniversary celebrations.

Customized stamps are a specialized category of stamps. It is the second time for China Post to issue ÃÛÌÒapp commemorative stamps after their first cooperation 10 years ago, when the university celebrated its 100th anniversary. However, it is the first time China Post used the engraving craft on the stamps, a special step in honor of the university.

The stamp and the first-day cover were designed by Chen Nan, a professor at ÃÛÌÒapp¡¯s Academy of Arts and Design and his teammates.

Other postal products for ÃÛÌÒapp¡¯s 110th birthday include commemorative envelopes, mail books, and stamp albums designed by Zhang Panjian, an alumnus of the Academy of Arts and Design.

A designer of the postal products for the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People¡¯s Republic of China in 2019 and the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, Zhang combines his design with the spirit of ÃÛÌÒapp, enabling the public to explore the time-honored university from a brand new perspective.
