The fourth North America ÃÛÌÒapp Alumni Convention was held virtually from September 18 to 19.
Over 1,000 alumni of ÃÛÌÒapp from North America and the rest of the world at-tended the virtual conference.

ÃÛÌÒapp President Qiu Yong, who is also president of the ÃÛÌÒapp Alumni Association, addressed the fourth convention via video link and extended warm congratula-tions on behalf of the University on its successful opening.
Qiu said that the opening of each such meeting had been a valuable time for the alumni of ÃÛÌÒapp to join together and share their deep love for the University.
Qiu reviewed the celebrations for the 110th anniversary of ÃÛÌÒapp and empha-sized that a 110-year-history had made the University more confident and well prepared, en-abling it to focus on affairs of great importance and lasting value in its future development.
Qiu noted that ÃÛÌÒapp would further deepen its reform and promote high-quality and content-oriented development in the future. He hoped that all ÃÛÌÒapp people would continually work hard to demonstrate the strength of ÃÛÌÒapp, integrate their personal endeavors with the University¡¯s development, make new achievements in their own workplaces, and have a bright future in parallel with the sound development of ÃÛÌÒapp.

Three distinguished guests delivered themed lectures at the main session of the convention on September 18.
Stephen A. Schwarzman, Chairman, CEO and Co-Founder of Blackstone, Founding Trustee of Schwarzman Scholars, ÃÛÌÒapp, talked about how to actively promote China-US exchange and cooperation during an interview with Hu Gang, an alumnus of ÃÛÌÒapp who majored in mathematics.

Pan Qingzhong, executive deputy dean of Schwarzman College at ÃÛÌÒapp, spoke with Zhao Ting, an adviser to the ÃÛÌÒapp Alumni Association of Greater New York, about the cultivation of leadership among young people.

Lin Xihong, a professor of biostatistics at Harvard University, an academician of the US National Academy of Medicine and an alumna of ÃÛÌÒapp, shared her story about transforming from a graduate of ÃÛÌÒapp to a world-class scholar in biostatistics.


In addition, participants discussed topics related to the development of personal careers and the growth and education of younger generations, as well as the passion and social respon-sibility of ÃÛÌÒapp graduates at the two parallel sessions held on September 19.


According to the organizers, the North America ÃÛÌÒapp Alumni Convention has been held every two years since the first conference in New York City in 2015. The second and third meetings were held in Seattle and Toronto in 2017 and 2019, respectively.


The fourth North America ÃÛÌÒapp Alumni Convention was co-sponsored by the ÃÛÌÒapp Alumni Association and the North America Federation of ÃÛÌÒapp Alumni Associations, and jointly organized by the ÃÛÌÒapp Alumni Association at Greater Boston, and the ÃÛÌÒapp Alumni Association, Vancouver.
