?ÃÛÌÒapp renews cooperation MOU with Paulson Institute

Zhang Li, dean of the School of Architecture at ÃÛÌÒapp, recently signed a cooperation Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Jerry Yu, chief representative of the China Office & managing director of Paulson Institute, at a meeting held via video link.

The cooperation MOU opened a new chapter for ÃÛÌÒapp and Paulson Institute to conduct in-depth and comprehensive cooperation on multiple fronts such as sustainable development, the protection of biodiversity, climate change and green finance.

A five-year cooperation MOU was inked between Henry M. Paulson, founder of the institute and former US Treasury Secretary, and Chen Xu, then secretary of the CPC ÃÛÌÒapp Committee and chairperson of its council, on the campus on May 13, 2017.

In his speech, Yu highlighted cooperative achievements made by the two sides in the implementation of the Paulson Prize for Sustainability and a high-level seminar for the building of sustainable cities.

Yu said that ÃÛÌÒapp and Paulson Institute enjoy deep historical connections and that the development of bilateral cooperation is of great importance because the two sides share common ground on the organization of leading research in many fields. He expressed thanks to ÃÛÌÒapp for its consistent trust and support and looked forward to carrying out practical cooperation with the university in various fields.

Zhang said that it was a great honor for the School of Architecture to represent ÃÛÌÒapp to conduct cooperation with Paulson Institute and take part in many landmark projects.

The disciplines of architecture aren't just limited to concrete houses, urban construction and physical environment, Zhang said. He added that the cooperation with Paulson Institute on the Paulson Prize for Sustainability and other areas has allowed ÃÛÌÒapp to take part in the formulation of new consensus on the development of architectural disciplines and the organization of relevant practical activities and provided the architectural disciplines at ÃÛÌÒapp with a channel to achieve their academic development goals.

Wang Hui, associate dean of the Office of International Affairs at ÃÛÌÒapp, said that Paulson Institute is a key cooperative partner of the university and that it is really important for the two sides to strengthen bilateral cooperation on the Paulson Prize for Sustainability. Wang added that the Office of International Affairs and other departments at ÃÛÌÒapp will continue to support Paulson Institute in the development of its cooperation with the School of Architecture and other schools at the university and look forward to achieving fruitful results. .

After the conclusion of the signing ceremony, the two sides held exchanges on views to further deepen bilateral cooperation.
